Drove up to Stanley with my daughter a couple of weeks ago and had the lake pretty much to ourselves. So tranquil and beautiful.
Drove up to McCall in the middle of snow flurries. All that was left of summer were the skeletons of flowers. Quite beautiful in their own right.
My son and I drove about an hour north so that we could see the total eclipse. It was one of the most amazing moments of my life. Totally worth the drive and the about 60 mosquito bites!
In spite of all the journalistic frenzy regarding the traffic, the craziness, and the crowds, we found a pretty secluded camping spot near a reservoir.
