As luck would have it, I stopped by the Boise Art Museum (yay for free entry with a BSU student ID) and visited the exhibit of the art of Richard Elliott, noticing a small piece that featured art at ‘Dick and Jane’s Spot’, the late “Dick” Elliott and his wife Jane’s house in Ellensburg, WA. Where I knew we would be traveling just a few days after.
So I told my husband that we had to go there, and it was truly fantastic! Every inch of fence and yard is covered in different art/folk art. It was a truly happy place!
If you’ve ever wondered what a piece of reflector art looks like when you fire a flash at it (something the Art Museum justifiable frowns upon) – well here it is!
These are some more photos I took there – it was truly a fantastic place.
If you are ever driving through Ellensburg, stop there for just a few minutes. (And on an unrelated note, if you haven’t seen the Group F/64 exhibit at the BAM, please go!)
